OCD is frequently misdiagnosed and ranks among the top ten most disabling diagnoses worldwide, alongside conditions like high blood pressure and cystic fibrosis. Yes, you read that right—it’s that significant!

Our shared experiences, particularly in rural communities across the U.S., have demonstrated how accurate assessments and clear distinctions between OCD and GAD can dramatically improve treatment outcomes. This training will empower practitioners to better recognize the nuanced presentations of OCD and the importance of differential diagnosis.

Clinicians JFundamentals of treating Obsessive Compulsive Disorderoin us for the the LIVE and later On Demand 2 hour NBCC CEU workshop and learn all the basics of OCD Fundamentals Treatment for your clients. After the training we will host you again in a 1 hour consultation group with case presentations from your peers in the training. We will have LIVE interaction and role plays, videos, essential assessment documentation, explore treatment for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC, and discussed nuanced billing and insurance. 

This course provides a solid foundation in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), equipping clinicians with the essential knowledge and skills for effectively assessing, diagnosing, and initiating treatment. Participants will gain an understanding of OCD, including its symptoms, subtypes, and comorbid conditions. By exploring evidence-based practices, such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), participants will be well-prepared to advance their training in OCD treatment and provide specialized care to clients.

Upon successful completion, participant will be able to:

  • Accurately assess and diagnose OCD: Utilize evidence-based measures to differentiate OCD from other anxiety disorders and confidently apply diagnostic criteria.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans: Provide comprehensive psychoeducation about OCD, create tailored exposure hierarchies, and conduct in vivo and imaginal exposures.
  • Introduce Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) techniques: Gain foundational knowledge of ERP principles and their role in OCD treatment, preparing for further specialization.
  • Identify appropriate referral sources: Connect clients with specialized ERP therapists and other relevant mental health services.
