Cultural Considerations in Treating OCD

The OCD community is gaining much support and increased awareness. We want to take a look behind the curtain of Medicaid services and the limitations it puts on the systems of providers and their clients. OCD treatment providers are specialized in providing the appropriate care using evidenced based practices. Medicaid limitations prevent therapist from making any exceptions to how to run sessions in the best interest of the client versus only what is covered.

We explore the cascade effect, repercussions,  and exclusions on communities. We explore cultural needs in treatment of OCD populations to honor cultural views and experiences. How to challenge a white centric and exclusionary point of view in the treatment of OCD.
